This green tea lemonade is a refreshing, flavorful drink that is perfect for summer days. Made with antioxidant-rich green tea and zesty lemon juice, this drink offers a delicious and refreshing way to stay hydrated and boost your health. This healthier green tea lemonade is easy to make and can be customized with different flavors to suit your taste.
Make sure you are using loose leaf teas, as they are higher in quality and have more antioxidants. Usually for an ice tea you want to make the tea stronger and use the proportion of 1 tablespoon of loose leaf green tea per 1 cup of hot water.
Measure out your loose-leaf tea, pour the hot water over the tea leaves and steep for 5 minutes, then strain. Once the tea is brewed, let it cool to room temperature and transfer to a glass pitcher or jar, I usually keep it in my glass pitcher with a lid.
Prepare and Add The Lemon Juice
You will need about 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (aprox. 4-5 small lemons) add to the cooled green tea.
Add The Sweetener
Add the honey (or the sweetener of your choice) and mix until it disolves.
Serve
Serve over ice and garnish with fresh mint leaves. Enjoy the healthiest green tea lemonade!
Notes
Varriety of Green Tea You Can Use To Make a Flavorful Green Tea Lemonade:
Replace honey with: agave nectar, stevia, maple syrup, xylitol or erithrytol. Or remove the sweetener entirely.Note: This is a concentrated mixture perfect for making an iced tea lemonade. As the ice melts it actually disolves the green tea lemonade. But if you intend to serve it without ice and prefer a less intense tea flavor, you can dilute it with a bit of cold filtered water.Storing: Consume within 5 days (keep refrigerated).
