Wash and peel (you can leave the skin if you want), cut into smaller chunks for an easier blending.
Make The Beetroot Juice
Place all ingredients in the blender (I use my Ninja blender) with some water (just enough to help blend -about 3/4 - 1 cup), squeeze the lemon juice, cover and start your blender.
Place the nut milk bag on the top of a container and pour the juice through it. Squeeze with your hands as much as you can until you get all the juice out. Enjoy immediately, the longer the beet juice sits the faster it looses the nutrients.
Notes
The recipe makes about 20 oz (600ml) of beetroot juice (actually it's a blend of juice and water). If you plan to drink the juice later, store it in an airtight glass container in the refrigerator and consume within one day not later. What's the best time to drinks beet juice: first thing in the morning 1.5 hours before breakfast or around 5pm. According to body's natural rhythm that's the time when the blood delivers useable nutrients to all tissues.
Tips for Making The Best Beetroot Juice
Use fresh organic fruits and vegetables
The addition of apple and lemon cuts the edge of bitter veggies and makes the juice taste better but try not to add other fruits. Mixing fruits and veggies can cause gas, because fruit digests faster and uses different digestive enzymes.
Add some greens, the calcium in greens will get easily absorbed when combined with iron and Vitamin C present in the juice.
For an easier juice prep, try to cut and peel your beets, carrots and apples in advance and store in a closed container.
