Notes
Tips For Preparing Lemon Cucumber Ginger Water:
Use a glass pitcher (the plastic degrades when in contact with acidic liquids), I'm using this 50 oz Borosilicate Glass Pitcher with a tight filtering lid - perfect for hot or cold liquids.
How Long is Cucumber Lemon Ginger Water Good For?
Try to drink a batch in a day or two and don’t keep it for too long in the fridge as it tends to loose the water soluble vitamins with time. If you leave leave the cucumbers, lemon and ginger in the water it gets spoiled in 2 days. So I like to infuse the water for several hours, then strain and transfer to the fridge, the water will keep good for another day or two.
Hot Water Or Cold?
When preparing this cucumber lemon ginger water, it’s best to steep the ginger first, let it cool and then mix it with cucumber, lemon and more cold water if needed. The ginger’s bioactive components are significantly higher and more potent when heated.
When To Drink
The best time to drink it is when you wake up, before a meal, during exercise and before bedtime.
