Strawberry Banana Milkshake Without Ice Cream
1½cupstrawberries frozen
1largebananaripe, preferably frozen for a thicker milkshake
1/2-3/4cupmilk or creamor yogurt/ see notes for dairy free/vegan version
2-3tbspmaple syrup or date syrupoptional, if you prefer it sweeter

1½cupstrawberriesfresh or frozen
1largebananaripe, use frozen for a thicker consistency
1cupplain vanilla ice cream or strawberry flavored ice cream/ see notes for dairy free
1/4cupmilk or creamsee notes for dairy free
Instructions
To a blender add the frozen fruits, the ice cream (if using) and the liquid. If you want to add some healthy protein: hemp seeds, flax seeds or chia seeds, now is the time to add it. To sweeten up the strawberry banana milkshake, use maple syrup or honey.
Cover with a lid and pulse a few times to get things moving, then set the blender on low speed and blend until creamy.
Pour the strawberry milkshake into glasses and enjoy right away.

Notes
Tips For Making Strawberry Banana Milkshake
To thicken the milkshake you just add more solid ingredients and less liquid. Such as more ice cream or more frozen fruit.
Blender: I’m using a Ninja blender with glass pitcher, the plastic ones are usually prone to scratches when blending frozen ingredients.
The best dairy free ice cream: coconut ice cream is usually thicker than other non-dairy versions so I like to use a classic vanilla flavored coconut ice cream, which is perfect for making a strawberry milk shake or just a plain coconut milk shake.
Dairy Free Milk: Coconut milk, cream (or yogurt) – for a thicker richer and creamier texture use full fat canned coconut milk. You can use only the solidified cream on top or all together with the water. This option is perfect if you want your strawberry banana milkshake to be vegan, paleo or keto compliant.
